Steel plants are impressive facilities: massive, noisy, bustling. But it’s people that bring life to a plant, and deliver on the promise of all that potential. SeverCorr has started with the right people, and will continue to find and develop a unique cadre of skilled, committed workers proud of their company and their products.
Here are a few of the people that are helping turn SeverCorr’s next-generation plant from a plan to reality.
Spotlight on SeverCorr…
The Construction Team
Talk about being busy! The SeverCorr Construction Team has built a 1.5 million ton steel mill in less than two years. “Our most rewarding moment will be when that first hot band is coiled at the end of the hot mill,” said one Construction Team member. That day came on August 28, 2007.
Asked why they chose to give up nearly two years of their lives for this project, many of them leaving families behind, they all agreed it was the opportunity to work with each other. They pointed to Richard Painter and said, “He is why we are here and he is why we worked so hard to get this done.” Clearly there is a deep sense of dedication, loyalty and camaraderie amongst the Construction Team.
That sense of camaraderie is a common thread at SeverCorr. People want to be a part of this organization because they truly believe in what we are accomplishing. They embrace the idea that together we can create a place that is different, innovative and exciting. This is why we will be featuring teams from across the SeverCorr operation on our website every few months. It gives us the opportunity to recognize those who make SeverCorr the next generation in steel by the work they do each and every day. And lets you meet a few of the individuals we are proud to have as part of our SeverCorr team.
