SeverCorr started with a handful of industry veterans who saw an opportunity and believed the best way to meet it was with a new-generation steel plant. And -- as promised at the ground-breaking less than two years ago -- the new mill produced it's first primary coil in September of 2007.

On October 27, 2005, SeverCorr’s founding team participated in a ceremonial groundbreaking for America’s newest steel mill near Columbus, Mississippi. The new mill will begin processing steel by the third quarter of 2007. Participating in the groundbreaking are (from left): John Correnti, Michael Wagner, LeRoy Prichard, Richard Painter, Mikhail Smirnov, Wynn Calland and Edward Lehner.
